This subject offers to students knowledge and understanding of law and its principles relevant to the civil engineering industry. It starts with brief introduction to the basic of law, its disciplines and categories, including some history and relation to business ethics. Main effort is given to the present version of the Czech Commercial Code and laws relevant to civil engineering.The course includes also fundamentals necessary to start and run a small business - like how to create a company, advantages of different legal structures, implications for taxation, etc. Questions related to management and corporate governance, responsibilities of owners, managers and their relations are also included. Final part of this course is dedicated to law in European Union, influence to our law system and possible consequences related to the civil engineering sector in our country.
