Course curriculum

This subject solves system balance, bioreactors, mixing in bioreactors, aeration, sterilization. It also deals enzyme and microbial kinetics, transport processes, possibillities of cultivation. Basic perations (cell disruption, protein precipitation, exctraction, large-scale chromatography) used in isolation and purification of biologically active compounds (proteins, nucleic acids) from microorganisms. Production of proteins using genetically modified microorganisms (GMO). Isolation of bioactive compounds using affinity techniques. Special isolation procedures. Large scale chromatographic techniques.
