Workshop - Bachelor Project

FSI-6APAcad. year: 2019/2020

Based on the individual assignment of the bachelor's thesis, students prepare a complex design of medium difficulty, including drawings of work containing sketches, variants, visualization and final presentation poster. Part of the solution is optional conceptual models, mandatory final model in the appropriate scale and accompanying report in connection with the subject "Bachelor Thesis Seminar".

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will demonstrate the ability to elaborate a complex design of a medium difficulty, including the presentation of the achieved results.

Prerequisites

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The subject is taught in the form of seminars, which are focused on the elaboration of the bachelor's thesis under the professional guidance.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The condition of granting a classified credit is obligatory attendance at the seminars at the scheduled hours and individual consultation with the supervisor. The approach to the given task is evaluated as well as the completeness and quality of the individual stages of the work, and the submission of the specified outputs within the given deadlines. The final evaluation consists of evaluation of individual projects. In total it will be possible to aquire 100 points. Resulting classification will be defined by the ECTS scale.
According to the article No. 13 of Study and Examination Rules of Brno University of Technology ECTS evaluation degree scale is used. . If some of the projects are awarded less than 50 pts., final evaluation of the course is "failed". The course is evaluated with the following grades: ECTS EVALUATION DEGREES / PTS. RATING / NUMERIC RATING: A / 100 - 90 / 1 / Excellent; B /89 - 80 / 1,5 / Very good; C / 79 - 70 / 2 / Good; D / 69 - 60 / Satisfactory; E / 59 - 50 / Sufficient; F / 49 - 0 / 4 / Failed.

Aims

The aim of the course is to design a medium-difficulty object of product design according to the individual assignment of the bachelor's thesis using the knowledge gained throughout the studying. The basis of the design lies in a deeper acquaintance with the issues of the given topic, analysis of the problem from the point of view of functional, aesthetic and technical aspects and correct determination of the mutual relations of human-machine-environment system. The aim is also to examine the level of knowledge and skills gained in the field of digital design processing.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Compulsory attendance at seminars. Education runs according to the week schedule. The way of compensation of missed seminars is specified by the tutor.
