The course is intended to teach German as the second foreign language at general level. It is focused on practical, everyday communication for the international workplace.

Students will be made familiar with general vocabulary for the workplace and grammar at intermediate as needed for everyday communication.
Prerequisites
It follows up on the language knowledge and skills obtained in the previous semester.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course it taught by means of language lessons focused on practicing language skills and developing vocabulary. It includes also individual work of students in the elearning environment.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
Course-unit credit is awarded on condition of having attended the seminars actively and worked out all assigned tasks for self-study. Students have to pass a credit test reaching 50% points as minimum.
Passing the written examination verifies the student's listening and reading comprehension skills, his or her skill to compose a written text on a given topic, and his or her knowledge of grammatical and lexical structures at B1 level of CEFR. Passing the oral examination verifies the student's skill to speak and express his or her opinions of general topics in the form of a dialogue at B1 level of CEFR.

Aims
The aim of the course is to equip students with knowledge and skills at intermediate level that are necessary for real-life tasks, such as describing problems or giving instructions, that arise in a wide range of economic occupations.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
Attendance at seminars is systematically checked by the teacher. Absence may be in justified cases compensated for by the agreement with the teacher.
