Computer Graphics

FAST-BH51Acad. year: 2013/2014

Main goal is to acquaint students with creation of 2D drawing documentation, as well (for advanced students) with creation of 3D model based on specific house plans. Output of this subject is printed drawings, meeting the standards of ČSN 013420. Advanced students will create extra visualization of a particular house.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students select a specific type of teaching units from these options:
2D programs - basics of the chosen CAD system, creating and printing drawings.
3D programs - suitable only for students with knowledge of a program for creating drawings - 3D models in selected program, a graphical output - visualization.
The main goal of this subject is, that the student will be able to create 2D drawings according to the standards of ČSN 013420, or visualisation of 3D model from 2D drawings.

Czech standard ČSN 013420, basic computer knowledge using Microsoft Windows

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The lectures are in form of live presentation of individual softwares, as taught in exercises. General or specific discussion about the individual software follows after the presentation.
During the exercises, basics or advanced training of individual software (as based on the initial selection of the student) takes place. Students draw two individual drawings or create 3D model of selected building during the semester.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

- attendance at exercises
- creation of two digital drawings according to czech standarts and printout of these drawings
- in case of studying of 3D modelling techniques visualisation of 3 or 4 views of chosen building
