Organisation of Work and Remuneration Systems

The course familiarises students with the following topics: Work organisation of employees in productive and non-productive sphere including managerial staff. Organization of working process and working environment – model exercises. Working process, division of labour, fixing of job standards, and organisation of working hours. Specification of an optimal number of workers and its connection to the labour performance in a working process. Function of salary in the management system – its categories and development. Wage payment plan in a company and its creation – job evaluation.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will be made familiar with the modern processes regarding organisation of a working process, work rationalisation, application of modern job standardisation methods, evaluation of labour performance possibilities in a working process and the procedures intended for quantification of labour performance in connection with the creation of a salary system of a company.

Prerequisites

Solution of equations and working out function graphs, basic knowledge of productive, technological and managerial functions within the company.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Conditions for awarding the course-unit credit:
- min. 66 % class attendance and participation in exercises ( i.e. participation in min. 4 exercises)
- submit a team project
- present the team project
- pass a written credit test (min. 50 % to pass) with a possibility of oral examination
The total evaluation of the course is half exercises/half written credit test weighted. It is needed to gain at least 50 points from exercises and written test to get the mark.
A 171-200 points.
B 151-170 points.
C 131-150 points.
D 111-130 points.
E 100-110 points.
F 99 and less.

Aims

The main objective of the course is for students to master theoretical and methodical processes necessary for the realisation of work organisation and implementation of remuneration system in a company. The course also focuses on questions related to specific features of organising the working process, workplaces and working environment, as well as on organisation of work of employees in productive and non-productive sphere including managerial staff. Also dealt with are the fundamentals of modern job standardisation methods in connection with the labour performance; understanding of salary function as well as the remuneration forms related to the labour performance quantity.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Control of results and assessment of tasks assigned in seminars. In case of excused absence from seminars, the teacher can set an additional term for delivery of assigned tasks.
