Architectural typology

The lectures are aimed at imparting specific knowledge needed for designing typological complexes of public buildings. General principles are exemplified by the individual solutions of contemporary works of architecture. The knowledge gained at the lectures is made use of in the work on the thesis.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Ability to orientate oneself in the problems of typology of all kinds of buildings in general, and in relation to the assigned concrete task.

Prerequisites

The doctorand is expected to have the knowledge of typology gained from the basic study and from practical elaboration of assigned studio works.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

The results are classified by a single mark reflecting the evaluation of both the seminar work and the oral exmination.

Deepening the knowledge of typology of buildings, which was gained in the basic study.
