Squeal noise generation in the wheel-rail contact with modified friction

On the project
The aim of this project is to provide extended explanation of occurrence of the wheel squeal noise in contact enhanced with the TOR products, especially in region of positive or constant slope of the friction coefficient. Investigation of this phenomenon will provide new essential information for extending current theory of occurrence of the wheel/rail squeal in curves for contacts enhanced with TOR products. The parameters which significantly affects efficiency of the applied friction modifiers will be focused. Identification of such parameters will be made both by simulation and laboratory experiments.
