On the project

Real interconnects of today’s analog-digital circuits operating on very high clock frequencies are main factors that create signal integrity troubles and can cause a malfunction of devices. It concerns printed circuit board traces, wire bonds, package leads, pins, connectors, cabling, or on-chip interconnects. The troubles can occur due to interconnect inhomogeneities, random changes of physical parameters, interactions with system components and surrounding environments. A proposed project is focused on a research of novel unconventional methods of mathematical description and analysis of selected types of interconnects, an optimization of the shape of carried signals and techniques of their reliable detection, with the aim to predict and avoid undesirable effects causing signal integrity troubles and cut-down of a data transfer reliability.

Description in Czech
Reálné propojovací struktury současných analogově-digitálních obvodů pracujících na velmi vysokých hodinových frekvencích jsou hlavními faktory, které způsobují poruchy integrity signálu a mohou být příčinou špatné funkce zařízení. Týká se to vodivých cest desek plošných spojů, drátových propojek, přívodů pouzder, vývodních kolíků, konektorů, kabeláže či propojovacích cest na substrátech čipů. Poruchy vznikají v důsledku nehomogenit přenosové cesty, náhodnými změnami fyzikálních parametrů a rovněž interakcemi s některými prvky systému i s jeho okolím. Navrhovaný projekt je zaměřen na výzkum nových netradičních způsobů matematického popisu a analýzy vybraných druhů propojovacích struktur, na optimalizaci tvaru přenášených signálů a metod jejich spolehlivé detekce, s cílem predikce a eliminace nežádoucích efektů vedoucích k poruchám integrity signálu a snížení spolehlivosti přenosu.
