The contribution presents an overview of the design works of an independent engineering firm SHP Brno, Czech Republic.The firm synthesizes all aspects of the architectural, structural and technological solutions in such a way that the client receives an aesthetically pleasing structure at a reasonable cost and minimum maintenance requirements.The approach to designing of bridges is demonstrated in following examples: 1.Robust concrete bridge 2.Segmental structures with cast-in-place deck slab 3.Composite bridges 4.Stress-ribbon bridges 5.Suspension bridges
