Originální abstrakt

Functionality and reliability of automation projects are assumed automatically. On the other hand in the last time there are higher demands on increased fault tolerance as well as on the high reliability and safety in new automation projects, devices and systems. It is the reason that the contribution, seen as a tutorial, deals with backgrounds of safety and high reliability of devices and systems for purposes of industrial informatics and automation of machines, production lines and technological processes. There are specified, explained, discussed and compare several international and national standards of key words and definitions in the contribution. The main attention is given to the IEC, DIN and EN standards with consideration to their implementation into systems of industrial automation. In the second part of the contribution, there are presented representative solutions of safe programmable devices and systems. Generalization of basic conclussions, trends and future solutions are demonstrated on recent safe PLCs
