Key learning outcomes

The teaching is aimed at imparting the knowledge and skills needed for solving the basic tasks of designing residential, public and industrial buildings, reconstruction of buildings and their interiors, from wider urban relationships and basic architectural concept, up to architectural or technical detail.

The four-year bachelor's degree program is by the Czech Chamber of Architects (CCA) used as a standard education. Longer-term practice, the limit set by the Czech Chamber of Architects, the authorization process may change in the status of an authorized person.

Access to further studies

The graduates may continue in a master's study programme.

Accessibility of education for people with disabilities

Brno University of Technology provides studies for students with disabilities according to section 21, par. e) of Act 111/1998 (Higher Education Act) and in accordance with the requirements in this area arising from Government Decree No. 274/2016, provides applicants and students with specific needs in the range of and in the form corresponding to the specification specified in Annex No. 3 to Rules for allocation of a financial contribution and funding for public universities by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, specifying financing additional costs of studies for students with specific needs. Services for students with special needs are implemented at Brno University of Technology through the activities of a specialized university centre “Alfons”. The activities of the counselling centre and the rules of access to studies are guaranteed by the university with the Rector's Directive No. 11/2017 regulating the position of applicants for students and students with special needs at BUT. This internal rule guarantees minimum standards of provided services. The services of the counselling centre are offered to applicants and students with all types of health disadvantages listed in Methodological Standard of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. Barrier-free access to all teaching rooms is provided at Faculty of Architecture BUT. However, students must be medically fit to obtain the necessary architectural qualifications. In practically oriented studio and other practical training (robotics), they must be able to operate devices and equipment independently without endangering themselves or their surroundings.
