Original title in Czech: Geodézie a kartografieFASTAbbreviation: GAKAcad. year: 2010/2011

Programme: Geodesy and Cartography

Length of Study: 3 years

Accredited from: 26.7.1999Accredited until: 31.12.2013

Profile

Doctoral study graduate (Ph.D.) in specialization Geodesy and Cartography is linked up to the magister degree of Geodesy and Cartography.
The study programme offers two specializations: Geodesy, and Cartography. Doctoral student has to absorb required amount of enlarged mathematical-physical basic knowledge. In addition he has to pass through the subjects of special applied basis including the methods of measurement, the evaluation, and analysis of geodetic and cartographic data, the physical geodesy, the satellite and space geodesy, geographic and cartographic information systems and others. Further subjects are added according to scopes of the dissertation thesis. Firstly it concerns the fields of geodetic controls, engineering geodesy, global positioning systems, photogrammetry and remote sensing, cadastre of real estates, digital cartography, and others. In course of doctoral studies the graduate adopts methodology of scientific work, and gets deep theoretical and language knowledge which qualifies him for individual creative scientific activity. Doctoral study graduate in specialization Geodesy and Cartography can be employed in development and research institutions of appropriate specialization, and also as academic staff at universities.

Issued topics of Doctoral Study Program

  1. Dynamic systems of geoinformation data collection

Combination of results obtained with various measuring systems, accuracy analysis of single parts, and their portion in integral systém. Application study.

Tutor: Hanzl Vlastimil, doc. Ing., CSc.

  2. Geodetic monitoring of structures

Problems of automated data collection, their analysis and interpretation in monitoring of structures and constructions utilizing the total stations, GNSS systems, electronic levelling instruments, and other instrumentation like accelerometers and gyroscopes.

Tutor: Bureš Jiří, doc. Ing., Ph.D.

  3. Methodology of geodetic system creation for non-connected territories

Problems in creation of geodetic systems on non-connected territories using various global navigation satellite systems and various softwares for data processing.

Tutor: Vatrt Viliam, prof. Ing., DrSc.

  4. Methodology of GIS use for reconstruction of historical monuments

Aimed to designate general method for retrieval of data sources (historical maps, document, artefacts) and to propose procedure of a historical object reconstruction in partial stages of structural changes. Verification using systems Geomedia Intergraph or Arc/Info.

Tutor: Bartoněk Dalibor, doc. Ing., CSc.
