Issued topics of Doctoral Study Program

  1. Contamination of the Environment by Mycotoxins

The object of the study is the occurrence of mycotoxins in environment. Included are methods for sampling and preparation of samples (with a preference for the QuEChERS procedures) and methods of analysis obtained extracts using the separation techniques and mass spectrometric detection. Streamlined procedures will be used to analyze a representative sample of real samples in order to obtain information on contamination of selected environmental compartments by target contaminants.

Tutor: Čáslavský Josef, prof. Ing., CSc.

  2. Determination of antidepresive in water ecosystem

Developmend of a method for determination of antidepresive in water ecosystem

Tutor: Vávrová Milada, prof. RNDr., CSc.

  3. Determination of anxiolytic and hypnotic in water ecosystem

Development of a metod for determination of anxiolytic and hypnotic in water ecosysterm

Tutor: Vávrová Milada, prof. RNDr., CSc.

  4. Determination of hypolipidemic in water ecosystem

Development of metod for determination of hypolipidemic in water ecosystem

Tutor: Vávrová Milada, prof. RNDr., CSc.

  5. Ecotoxicological evaluation of products based on nanoparticles

The subject of the study will be the assessment of environmental impact of new types of products, which are based on nanoparticles. For example, development of nanopesticides used in agriculture, the use of nanoparticles in the technological processes of waste water treatment etc. The fate of these particles and their effect on living organisms is not fully known. Selected products will be tested via suitable testing organisms in order to assess the ecotoxicological impact on the chosen representative of the aquatic and terrestric ecosystem.

Tutor: Zlámalová Gargošová Helena, doc. MVDr., Ph.D.

  6. Sampling gel diffusion techniques

Studying of the behavior of different forms of metal in a dynamic aquatic ecosystem is important and fundamental for assessment of the bioavailability and thus estimation of potential risks. The gel diffusion techniques - dialysis, DET (Diffusive Equilibration in thin-films technique) and DGT (Diffusive Gradient in Thin-films technique) technique can be use for the study of water, sediment and soil. The subject of study will be research, use and interpretation of the results of the application of the techniques for the risk of metal, respectively their available forms. Specific areas of research techniques will be based on actual needs, the type of sampling system or type of the used gel system.

Tutor: Vávrová Milada, prof. RNDr., CSc.

  7. Study of environmental contamination by platinum group metals

The research will determine the state of the environment regard to contamination by risk elements from automobile traffic - platinum metals. The study will focus on platinum, palladium and rhodium. Research will consist of the proposing methodology for their determination, optimization of this procedure, use in the analysis of real samples and evaluation of obtained results compared with the found environmental values of these elements in other European cities.

Tutor: Komendová Renata, doc. Mgr., Ph.D.

  8. Studying the properties of peat using electrochemical methods

Tutor: Vávrová Milada, prof. RNDr., CSc.

  9. The issue of new pesticides in the aquatic environment

The study is focused on the new types of pesticides used in agriculture. It will include the development of analytical methods for the determination of the target compounds in aquatic ecosystems (water, sediment, aquatic biota) and analysis of real samples aimed to obtaining information about the degree of contamination of the aquatic ecosystem by active ingredients in pesticide formulations, as well as products of their transformation.

Tutor: Čáslavský Josef, prof. Ing., CSc.

  10. The use of biomarkers for evaluating the environmental load risk elements

The main topic of study will be the use of biomarkers for evaluating the environmental hazardous elements, especially platinum metals (platinum, palladium and rhodium). To assess the environmental status of these elements will be used plant material lichens or mosses. Research will include the selection, optimization and testing biomonitoring methods, including end analytical techniques. The output should evaluate the state of the environment and the practical applications optimized methodology at various locations in the Czech Republic.

Tutor: Komendová Renata, doc. Mgr., Ph.D.
