Profile

PhD study of study branch Civil Engineering Management is focused on the scientific training, the methodology of the scientific work and on the development of knowledge in the area of the real investments, the project management, the space economics, the value analysis in construction, the quality management, the marketing management and the risk management. The scientific training of this study branch is based on the mastering of initial theoretical disciplines of the scientific base and theoretical disciplines of the appropriate orientation. The graduate of the PhD study of the study branch Civil Engineering Management is prepared for the asserting himself in the development and scientific activity in the area of appropriate orientation of the study branch and also for the solving of difficult and unusual problems connected with the cost management, the management of the time and the value of investment construction projects and globally with the structural firm's management.
The continuous and active scientific activity is also the supposition of the possible staying of graduates as academic employees at universities.

Issued topics of Doctoral Study Program

2. round (applications submitted from 07.11.2016 to 12.12.2016)

  1. Enterprise performance management system in construction industry

Student has to describe modern methods of enterprise performance measurement. The objective of thesis is to design the system of performance measurement in construction company using Key Performance Indicators. The aim of proposed system utilization is to ensure continuous performance improvement in the company.

Tutor: Hanák Tomáš, doc. Ing., Ph.D.

  2. Identification of financial indicators reflecting the economic development of the construction company

Economic development of the construction company can be monitored with several indicators or a set of financial ratios. In the frame of disertation thesis financial ratios expressing the economic development of the construction company will be identified. The model consisting of the set of specific financial ratios expressing the economic development of the construction company in the relation on its construction production will be carried out.

    Tutor: Vítková Eva, Ing., Ph.D.

  3. Model of effective selection of the contractor of public contracts under the 3E principle

Selection of an effective contractor of public procurement under the 3E principle is based among other on evaluation of the life cycle cost of the acquired fixed assets. The outcome of this work is to create a methodological basis for the process of public procurement with using LCC in order to increase the efficiency of state property management in this area.

Tutor: Korytárová Jana, prof. Ing., Ph.D.

  4. Model of Evaluation of Economic Risk of Construction Project from the Perspective of Investor

Doctoral thesis is focused on creating of a model for the evaluation and management of economic risk associated with the realization of the construction. The topic will be solved from the perspective of an investor. For the processing of the dissertation is expected to use appropriate software for mathematical simulation such as Crystal Ball.

Tutor: Hromádka Vít, doc. Ing., Ph.D.

  5. Modelling & Simulation of Risks of Transport Infrastructure Investment Projects

Transport infrastructure projects have a permanent impact on development of regions. During the whole life cycle they exhibit high costs. It is necessary these specific and often unique projects to manage quality (in terms of cost and time). The goal is to identify, analyse and evaluate risks which can in phases of their project life cycle arise. The purpose of risk analysis is to create a methodological base for their management in order to increase the efficiency of state management.

Tutor: Korytárová Jana, prof. Ing., Ph.D.

  6. Optimization of Economic Evaluation of Projects in Transport Infrastructure

The topic of doctoral thesis is focused on the economic evaluation of projects in the transport infrastructure. Based on the detailed present state analysis the evaluation of the ways of the projection of partial impacts of these projects into their economic evaluation and the proposal of potential changes or completion will be carried out. Results will be verified on the case study.

Tutor: Hromádka Vít, doc. Ing., Ph.D.

  7. Optimization of the construction cost with the support of facility management

This work will focus on optimization of construction costs with the support of facility management methods. Decisions on the acquisition of the building is always heavily dependent on purchase costs. It is very important to prepare good estimate of operating costs at the stage of project preparation. With facility manager's involvement in the project team can be better achieved the optimization of the life cycle cost of building.

Tutor: Tichá Alena, doc. Ing., Ph.D.

1. round (applications submitted from 01.06.2016 to 31.07.2016)

  1. Facility management as part of an integrated management system of company

Facility management as a management of support processes for core business. The introduction of facility management in an integrated management system of company. Tools and methods of facility management. Position of facility manager in management of company. Using of quality management , environment, occupational safety and supporting operations to strategic business management.

Tutor: Tichá Alena, doc. Ing., Ph.D.

  2. Using of innovative technologies in the construction industry and their economic evaluation

Definition of suitable innovative technologies for the construction industry (nanotechnology , solar high-capacity batteries , special textile materials , 3D printers , etc . ) . According to information focusing on innovative business and to information on the protection of industrial property to create an overview of applied technologies in construction . For selected technologies to create a multi-criteria evaluation of benefits for the construction industry , including economic evaluation.

Tutor: Tichá Alena, doc. Ing., Ph.D.
