Selected Topics in Physics II

The course is intended to help the students to become familiar with basic physical problems related to electric and magnetic fields (covered in the course "Physics II"). The lectures will be focused mainly on solving example tasks and on analysis of practical problems.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will be made familiar with physical quantities definitions, and will be able to apply physical laws when solving various problems of electric fields, electric current and magnetism.

Prerequisites

Students are expected to be able to solve equations, to work with vectors, and to be familiar with differential calculus and the topics covered in the course "Physics I".

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

At the end of the course, students with more than 60% attendance at lessons will be awarded course-unit credits.

Aims

The aim of the course is for students to deepen their knowledge of basic physical quantities, and to drill solving simple as well as more complex problems.
