Course detail
FSI-ZP5Acad. year: 2024/2025
Students in a small team collaborate on a closed problem, which involves the analysis of the function of a simple machine (e.g., a small internal combustion engine) and its mechanical components. The subject focuses on comprehending how the machine operates or functions based on an initial examination of the whole, subsequent machine analysis, understanding of the functions of individual components, their categorization, analysis, and quality evaluation, and placing the machine in the market segment. Students use and integrate the knowledge acquired from concurrently running subjects, especially in basic design principles and CAD modelling. Lecturers guide students through consultations in systematic engineering work, which forms the basis for understanding the process of designing mechanical components and is a necessary prerequisite for completing subsequent project subjects with more open tasks.
