Modelling

The subject is focused on the basic topic of teaching modeling, that is the head, which is a classic object for practicing the sense of building mass in space. The semester is divided into three tasks, the first is a modeled skull according to the model, which is a necessary starting point for the subsequent two modeled heads according to plaster busts with an emphasis on proportions, capturing the character, movement, details and modeling technique.

Entry knowledge

Theoretical knowledge of perspective and drawing geometric bodies by model are a prerequisite.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Conditions for gaining credit: attendance at seminars, submission of assignments in specified dates. The final assessment is counted as an average grade from the three projects. The classification is determined by the ECTS scale.

Participation in seminars is compulsory. Seminars are based on weekly schedules. Determining ways to compensate for missed lessons is the responsibility of the supervisor.

Aims

The graduates will be able to model an object according to a model in scale 1:1 with an emphasis on volume construction, proportions and character of model. The subject develops the ability to observe and analyse visual elements and cultivates art predisposition for individual creative activity in the area of industrial design. To acquiring the sense of space, plastic shape, estimation and measurement of dimensions. Knowledge of the necessary technical basics of working with modelling clay and modelling equipment. The development of artistic sense of construction of 3D objects and practical knowledge of anatomy of head.
