University swimming team

This type of teaching of the BUT representative selection is suitable for racing swimmers, fin swimmers, water polo players and rescuers, aquabels and triathletes who want to build their condition and improve their swimming skills, or are interested in representing BUT in academic competitions. Those students who have already finished their active racing career or have never swumed competitively (performance and fitness swimmers), but would like to train more intensively and participate in academic competitions, also have the opportunity to swim in the BUT national team.

Registration for the BUT selective training takes place directly at the sports grounds at the subject guarantor. Alternatively, in agreement with the teacher.


Trainings take place twice a week to maintain fitness and for those interested 4-5 times a week to develop fitness + dry preparation

Racing:

- Czech academic games (representation of the school in swimming, fin swimming)

- Semester end of swimming (summer and winter competition BUT)

- Foreign Academic Competitions (European Games)

Good to very good level of swimming skills.

- a non-competitive fitness and performance swimmer with a good level of swimming skills,
including those who have already finished their racing careers, but would be interested in representing BUT in academic competitions.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Credit on the basis of active participation in teaching, ie regular attendance with registration in the attendance list (2 unexcused participations are allowed). The course is not evaluated by credit.
Enrollment in the BUT team is done by email to the swimming guarantor (Michaela.Batorova@vut.cz) and in person at the pool in the first week of swimming lessons (ie the 3rd week of TV lessons). Students who want to represent BUT do not register for swimming lessons with TV registration as regular students, but enrollment is done by the subject guarantor.

Training lessons take place 2-4 times a week at the Lužánky pool 19-21.

Regular attendance with registration in the attendance list, 2 unexcused absences are allowed, apologies orally for absences in advance directly in class or by email in advance, but no later than 24.0 hours after the date of class.
Compensation for missed and unexcused lessons always in agreement with the teacher directly in the specialization or in specific hours at the Machina Fit Center. The compensation is recorded in the attendance sheet or the teacher issues a written confirmation if the attendance sheet is not available.
Other compensation options are in block classes, at CESA courses and sporting events (eg Christmas Games, Sports Day, one-off weekend educational events).

Aims

The aim of the course is to develop swimming skills, build fitness and improve swimming technique of all four swimming styles. Emphasis is placed on the main racing swimming style of individual swimmers.
- Further development of swimming skills, building fitness, improving swimming technique, eliminating deficiencies and mistakes.

- BUT representation at academic competitions.
