Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Credit is awarded upon meeting the required attendance, submitting all independent work and passing two credit tests. The deadlines for the submission of individual assignments and the dates of the control tests are set by the teacher in the form of a written assignment at the beginning of the semester and are binding.
The course is passed by successfully passing an oral examination consisting of a theoretical and practical (drawing) part.
Compulsory attendance at seminars with two excused absences, further absences can be replaced by agreement with the lecturer in another seminar or excused for particularly serious health reasons.
Lectures are optional.
In the case of a student's apology and with approval of the course guarantor, personal participation may be substituted with online participation in the lesson.

Aims

The Building Elements course set introduces students to the design of building structures. In interdisciplinaryconnection with other technical and natural science disciplines, the set provides a foundation for the design of architectural work. Its primary goal is to provide students with the knowledge, understanding and skills that will enable them to optimally design theoretically sound civil engineering structures. The curriculum focuses on following a line that leads from the creative development of an architectural concept to the creative and imaginative design of a structural detail.
