Safety Management

The main content of the course is a review of occupational health and safety, fire protection and information security and systems of safety management (occupational health and safety, prevention of serious accidents, information safety) and the procedures of auditing of these systems.

Entry knowledge

Knowledge of mathematics and management of quality and reliability in the extent of previous studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is expected.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Requirements for course-unit credit award: active participation in lectures and seminars, semestral work elaboration, test; in justified cases, the lecturer may set alternative requirements.

Attendance in the course is compulsory. In justified cases alternative form of tuition, solution of the individual semestral project.

Aims

The aim of the course is to familiarize the students with occupational health and safety, fire protection and information security, legal and sub-statutory requirements in these areas, and approaches to implementation and management of safety systems (OSH, PMI, IS) and its integration with other management systems.


The course allows the students to take upon the knowledge obtained in previous studies in the field of quality management and reliability and to broaden it with the given fields.
