The course is intended to teach Russian as a foreign language at general level. It is focused on practical, everyday communication for the international workplace.

Entry knowledge

Course is intended for false beginners. The course R2 follows up on the knowledge of grammar and vocabulary acquired in the course R1.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Course-unit credit is awarded on condition of having worked out all assigned tasks in e-learning (with 60% points as minimum). Final evaluation reflects the student's systematic work and the knowledge tested by the examination. The examination consists of a written and an oral part and corresponds to the A1 level according to the Common European Framework.


Attendance at seminars is compulsory and is systematically checked by the teacher. Absence may be in justified cases compensated for by the agreement with the teacher.

Aims

The aim of the course is to equip students for real-life tasks, such as describing problems or giving instructions, that arise in daily life.


Students will be made familiar with general vocabulary and simple grammar for everyday communication.

Introduction. Unit 5 – Daily routine. Verbs “wake up, go, have breakfast/lunch/dinner, wash”.
Unit 5 – Speaking about time: seasons, months, days, hours. Verbs “begin, start, end, finish”.
Unit 5 – Leisure time, weekly schedule, parts of the day, time expressions and prepositions.
Unit 6 – Food and eating. Verbs “eat, drink”.
Unit 6 – Numbers. Numbers and nouns. Genitive. Negative structures.
Unit 6 – Adjectives. Russian cuisine. Small talks.
Unit 7 – Living, furniture. Verbs expressing position (“stand, hang, lay, be located”).
Unit 7 – Ordinal numbers 1-10. Flat for rent advertisement.
Unit 7 – Declension of feminine nouns. Housing.
Unit 8 – Transport, travelling. Verbs expressing movement (“walk, go”).
Unit 8 – States, nationalities and languages. Future tense. Planning the trip to Russia.
