Course detail

Design and Economy

FSI-LPEAcad. year: 2023/2024

The course is focused on calculating, developing and designing thermal power stations and their parts(steam and gas turbines, steam boilers) central heating systems, fuel systems and nuclear power stations.
Economy:leasing, net present value, cash flow, internal rate of return.

Language of instruction

Czech

Number of ECTS credits

6

Entry knowledge

Knowledge of energy sources, steam turbines and boilers

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Graded credit requirements: active participation in the exercises and delivery of a project for the given topic in a given term. Examination: written part consists of questions and examples, oral part in a form of discussion about a given topic.
Participation in the exercises is systematically controlled

Aims

The aim of the course is to familiarise students with problems of designing thermal power stations, their important nods, as well as with economic aspects of the design.
The course provides students with knowledge and skills necessary to work out the documentation in power engineering including optimal thermal and economic calculations.
