Bachelor Seminar (IPE)

The subject introduces students to writing of a bachelor's thesis at the Institute of Process Engineering. Lectures present specific examples of appropriate content creation and connections within individual chapters of the thesis. A substantial part of the course is devoted to the practical point, where students present the results of their work in the form of a fifteen-minute presentation.

Entry knowledge

Students are expected to have certain knowledge acquired when working on the bachelor project.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

The conditions for granting credit are active participation in seminars and the presentation of a bachelor's thesis.


Attendance at the seminar is mandatory and will be checked regularly. In case of an excused absence, the student will be required to familiarize himself with the topic of the bachelor's thesis, the presentation of which he missed.

Aims

The aim of the seminar is to teach students with the requirements of a bachelor's thesis and the typical phases of the state final exam. Students will learn to speak publicly and present their results to a wider professional public. The course will prepare them for their performance at the state final exam and defence of their bachelor's thesis.


In addition to general advice on creating a bachelor's thesis, students will also be given feedback on the presentations of their results.

1.-13.: Every week, one seminar will be held, where individual students will refer about their bachelor theses so that all students will be given one chance during the semester. The theses will be discussed by the audience immediately after they are presented.
