Operational and System Analysis

The course is focused on the introduction and practical use of selected methods of operations research, especially in the context of managerial decision support. The explanation goes from explaining the basic theoretical background to their practical application using SW MATLAB.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

The exam is a written test. The test is classified according to ECTS. The test has a score in the range of 0-20 points. A20-19; B18-17; C16-15; D14-13; E12-10; F9-0.

Aims

The aim of the course is to acquaint the student with selected methods that can be used in managerial decision-making and to develop his skills to use this knowledge in solving practical and organizational problems of the company in the MATLAB SW environment. Students will also be introduced to the basic principles of modeling traditional management problems; master advanced modeling principles suitable for well-structured and deterministic control problems. They will apply the mentioned methods of operational analysis under the conditions of a specific situation.


By completing the course, students will gain professional knowledge, skills and opportunities for practical use of selected methods of operational research in business management. Thanks to the presentation and practical implementation of specific case studies, they will also master these selected methods and techniques.
