Studio II - Game Media - summer

This course introduces students to the transmission of status and other information using graphical or physical interfaces. A key theme here is the relationship between the heads up display (HUD), the Graphical User Interface (GUI), the User Interface in terms of hardware (UI) and the resulting User Experience (UX). Parallel themes focus on the phenomenon of "player guidance", navigation and general orientation in virtual or physical (in the case of board, card or space games) space.

Entry knowledge

Experience with multi-level creative writing. Realization of a periodic modular autobiographical text.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

To award the credit, it is necessary to submit partial studio assignments and collective or individual semester work. Subsequently, before the committee, he / she defends the results of the semester examination.
Presentation and submission of semestral studio works and exercises. Consultation, participation in teaching and studios is obligatory.

Aims

Students are able to design and implement a graphical user interface, according to the needs of game design.
Students understand the terminology and relationship of HUD, GUI, UI and UX in the context of game design. They are able to design adequate navigation solutions and other forms of information delivery.
