Course detail
Road Design
FAST-CM001Acad. year: 2020/2021
Preliminary design and final design of grade separated interchange. Horizontal and vertical geometry (situation, longitudinal profiles), typical sections (category width, superelevation, road widening in curves), earth construction (typical cross section and detailed operative cross sections). Creation of 3D model and contours project. Simplified visualization. Drainage of roads (hydro technical computation). Earthwork, calculation of its volume, soil transport. Constructions on roads. Traffic safety.

Learning outcomes of the course unit
Students are able to find routing of highway under complicated conditions. Moreover they are able to complete a detailed project lay-out. They are able to design road equipmetn and essential road structures. Students are able to design both single level intersections and fly-overs.
Prerequisites
Complete highway route design, computation of highway geometry, knowledge of used road materials and typical pavement constructions.
