River training – natural water courses and river structures in CR, SVP, conceptual approach to river training, river channel construction, reasons for river training, design of river regulation, bank lining, channel stability appraisal, levees, concentration structures, function of vegetation at banks and along the channel, eco-biological regulation, river revitalization
Weirs- purpose and character of weir structures, basic terminology, plan layout, division of weirs (fixed and movable – construction types), dimension design, stilling basin design, weir basement, load of the weir structures, safety and stability of the weirs.

Course curriculum

1. - 7. River training – natural water courses and river structures in CR, SVP, conceptual approach to river training, river channel construction, reasons for river training, design of river regulation, bank lining, channel stability appraisal, levees, concentration structures, function of vegetation at banks and along the channel, eco-biological regulation, river revitalization
8. - 13.Weirs- purpose and character of weir structures, basic terminology, plan layout, division of weirs (fixed and movable – construction types), dimension design, stilling basin design, weir basement, load of the weir structures, safety and stability of the weirs.

Getting basic overview of problems related to the river trainning and weirs, participant will be enable to maintain basic design of complex river trainnig and design of weir.
