STATIC AND DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF STRUCTURES

Programs for solving static and dynamic problems. ANSYS program system. Commands, GUI, online help and manuals. Introduction to ANSYS. Sculpting of complex models considering 3D solid. Library of elements, model generation, meshing. Imposition of loads and boundary conditions. Solution, postprocessing of results.

Course curriculum

1.Introduction to ANSYS menu.
2.Model definition, element selection, load, and boundary conditions.
3.Plane stress, compare results with beam theory.
4.Plate structure, symmetry boundary condition, plot internal forces and displacements.
5.Eigenvalue buckling, parametric study.
6.Model of complex geometry structure.
7.Torsionaly loaded beam – different dimension models.
8.Solving table foundation using solid elements, static and modal analysis.
9.Harmonic analysis of table foundation.
10.Simple transient analysis.
11.Thermal analysis, thermal load.
12.Solution of individual task.
13.Conclusion, credit.

Aims

To get additional FEM knowledge, practical use of this method, introduce to FEM programs, preprocessor, solver, postprocessor, Computational model design, static and dynamics task solution, learned skills helps to understand static and dynamics behavior of structure, learn control of ANSYS program based on FEM.
