2. Railhead and trough passenger stations.
3. Storage stations, technology, sets of tracks arrangement.
4. Equipment of storage stations
5. Shunting yards, functions, position in railway network.
6. Development of sorting technology.
7. Set of reception sidings. Hump, technical equipment, sets of tracks design.
8. Longitudinal section of hump track, dynamic estimation.
9. Set of sorting sidings.
10. Set of departure sidings, tracks for thoroughgoing trains.
11. Depots, running shed. Technology, arrangement of trackage.
12. Railway siding (factory, industrial), set of tracks, connection to railway stations, interchange tracks.

Aims

The objective of the subject is to introduce students to the problems of railway junctions, passenger and goods traffic in them and to practise acquires knowledge and skills.
