Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will acquire necessary knowledge from the areas of mechanical engineering workshops designing and material handling. The course is focused mainly on different technologies of mechanical engineering, such as metal forming, welding and cutting, machining and casting.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of manufacturing technology (mainly forming and machining technology), as well as basic knowledge of materials handling and machines and technological equipment used.

Co-requisites

Not applicable.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Students attendance at lectures and their activity is checked and evaluated by occassional tests.

Aims

The main goal of the subject is to provide students with all basic information about designing of industrial plants. The course is divided into two different parts: one focussing on designing of workshops and production lines, one concentrating on material handling. Both parts are connected with different technology of mechanical engineering.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Students attendance at lectures and their activity is checked and evaluated by occassional tests.
