Experimental Methods and Instruments

FSI-IEPAcad. year: 2019/2020

The course is focused on instrumentation used at monitoring of processes associated with environmental protection in present practice.

Language of instruction

Czech

Number of ECTS credits

5

Mode of study

Not applicable.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students are made familiar with present measuring instruments used at technical processes monitoring, with their accuracy limits and with mistakes that can occur during measuring or data processing.

Prerequisites

Knowledge on the level of the first four semesters of the study at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is assumed.

Co-requisites

Not applicable.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Graded course-unit requirements: Students must present reports on excursions and the semester paper. At the end of semester students demonstrate their knowledge of the subject matter.

Course curriculum

Not applicable.

Work placements

Not applicable.

Aims

The goal of course is to acquaint students with basic measuring instruments used in technical practice, with their usage and technical limits of measuring accuracy.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Controlled participation in lessons:
Attendance at seminars is registered. Missed seminars are compensated by writing a report on them.

Recommended optional programme components
