Course detail
Technology of Biopolymers
FCH-BC_TBPAcad. year: 2019/2020
In the course of Biopolymers Technology students will be introduced to the basic industrially used biopolymers. They will be provided with basic information about the technology involved biopolymers from biological matrices, technological, economic and ecological requirements of the different stages of production. In addition, students will be introduced to the basic physico-chemical-biological properties of these biopolymers, especially in relation to their potential use. Will be mentioned a significant modification of native biopolymers and their fields of use. The course covers the basic principles of analysis and control of acquired biopolymers.

Learning outcomes of the course unit
After completing the course Biopolymer Technology student will understand the problems and the most important properties as well as production of technologically significant biopolymers. Simultaneously through the generalization isolation procedures, derivatization and applications of these biopolymers student will be able to transfer this information into practice and will form the basis for further professional development in the field of biological macromolecules. At the same time expected to create a sufficient basis for further study of the issue of biopolymers.
