Electromechanical Systems

The subject is lectured in english language and is determined for those who want to improve their knowledge of technical english.Basic terminology of DC and AC electrical machines and transformers. Principle of operation of DC and AC electrical machines and transformers. Principle of operation of DC and AC electric drives. DC to DC and AC to DC innverters. Energy and power flow, efficiency.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Subject graduate should have been able:
- master basic english terminology of electric machines, appliances, power electronics and electric drives,
- describe main parts of electric machines in English,
- explain electric machines principle of operation in English,
- explain characteristics of basic power electronic components in English,
- explain principle of operation of basic power electronics circuits in English,
- explain DC and AC drives principle of operation in English,
- prepare and present technical problem in English.

Prerequisites

The subject knowledge on the Bachelor´s degree level is requested.

Aims

The aim of the subject is to repeat the knowledge from electromechanical energy conversion,electric drives ad power electronics and to improve the knowledge of technical english.
