Fundamentals of Information and Communication Technologies
FEKT-BKC-PISAcad. year: 2019/2020
The course introduces students to information and communication technologies using practical examples. It provides an overview of the types of connectors and cables for computer networks. The next part focuses on the TCP / IP communication model, the basic installation of operating systems in virtual environments, their network configuration, virtual private network (VPN) configuration, virtual LAN networks, network traffic analysis, and basic server configuration.
Learning outcomes of the course unit
After completing the course, students acquire a basic overview of passive and active network elements and their advantages and disadvantages. They also acquire practical experience including connecting network cables, installation and configuration of operating systems, network interfaces, components and basic network services.
No special knowledge is required.
