Student will know theoretical approaches from a microeconomics area and he/she will understand the role of market to other microeconomics entities and he/she will make a critical analysis of real feature from microeconomics area.

The course contains lectures that explain basic principles, problems and methodology of the discipline, and exercises that promote the practical knowledge of the subject presented in the lectures

Student will pass the seminars if he/she will score minimum of 21 points. The maximum is 40 points.
Evaluation of the seminars consists of three parts:
1. tests – it’s evaluated a maximum of 38 points, the minimum is 19 points. There will be two tests. Student has to get at least 9,5 points from each test.
2. active participating in the seminars – maximum of 2 points.

Participation in seminars is compulsory. Three abstentions are allowed. If you will not be present at the given test dates and your absence will not be excused, the term will be forfeited.
The Sick note must be submitted within 5 working days of the date on which you were not present.

The tests will be written during the semester. For each test you can get a maximum of 18 points, together up to 36 points. At least you have to score 18 points for both tests together.

The form of the exam is written. The maximum number of points you can get from the test is 60 points. The minimum threshold is 30 points. The exam is divided into 4 parts. You must get at least 15 points out of 30 possible from parts A, B and C. You can get a maximum of 30 points from Part D and you need at least 15 points from this section. The points earned from this test are combined with the points you earn at the seminars. Pen, ruler and calculator are allowed for the test.

A final scale for a valuation of student (a student can obtain max. 40 pts from seminars, 60 pts from written exam, total 100 pts):
A: 90 - 100 pts
B: 80 - 89 pts
C: 70 - 79 pts
D: 60 - 69 pts
E: 50 - 59 pts
F: less then 50 pts

1.Podstata ekonomické vědy a vývoj mikroekonomie - ekonomie, mikroekonomie, makroekonomie, pozitivní a normativní ekonomie; úloha ekonomických modelů, léčky v ekonomickém uvažování, historický vývoj mikroekonomie
2.Tržní systém a racionální chování člověka - domácnost, firma, stát, trh, ekonomický koloběh, tržní systém a jeho pravidla, úloha cen, racionální chování člověka, náklady obětované příležitosti, utopené náklady,
3.Formování poptávky - teorie mezního užitku a teorie indiference, individuální poptávka, důchodový a substituční efekt, změny poptávky, cenová, důchodová a křížová elasticita poptávky, tržní poptávka
4.Chování výrobce a formování nabídky - implicitní a explicitní náklady, celkové, fixní a variabilní náklady, průměrné náklady, mezní náklady, vztahy mezi jednotlivými náklady, nákladové funkce, křivka nabídky, bod zvratu, bod ukončení činnosti firmy, dlouhodobá a krátkodobá rovnováha firmy, elasticita nabídky
5.Dokonalá konkurence a tržní rovnováha - vymezení dokonale konkurenčního trhu, tržní rovnováha a její dosahování, teorém pavučiny, rovnovážná cena, přebytek, nedostatek, efektivnost tržní rovnováhy, přebytek spotřebitele, přebytek výrobce
6.Nedokonalá konkurence a monopol - příčiny vzniku nedokonale konkurenčního prostředí, přirozený a administrativní monopol, cenová diskriminace monopolu, regulace monopolu,
7.Oligopol a monopolistická konkurence, monopson – oligopol, smluvní oligopol, oligopol s dominantní firmou, dlouhodobá a krátkodobá rovnováha monopolistické konkurence
8.Trhy výrobních faktorů, trh práce – produkční funkce, zákon klesajících výnosů, poptávka firmy po výrobním faktoru, příjem z mezního produktu, mezní náklady na výrobní faktor, rovnováha firmy na trhu výrobních faktorů v podmínkách dokonalé konkurence, trh práce, zpětně zakřivená individuální nabídka práce, individuální poptávka po práci, nedokonalosti na trhu práce na straně nabídky a poptávky, nezaměstnanost,

11.Externality a veřejné statky – negativní a pozitivní externalita, řešení externalit, Coaseho teorém, Piguova daň, Paretovo optimum, veřejný statek, rozhodování o veřejném statku, poskytování veřejných statků a jejich úhrada
12.Behaviorální ekonomie – vymezení pojmu, vznik a vývoj, vztah ke klasické ekonomii, racionalita z pohledu behaviorální ekonomie
13.Alternativní teorie firmy - Baumolův model firmy maximalizující obrat, Doylův model zón tolerance

The goal of the course is to teach student to "think like an economist," which will help students to understand the world around, make better economic decisions in own life, and be a more informed citizen and voter. The course focuses on economic theory and therefore will often rely on abstract concepts. However, the course will emphasize the application of these concepts to real world situations through frequent in-class discussions of current events and interactive learning exercises.
