Mobile Communication Seminar

FEKT-MPA-SKTAcad. year: 2020/2021

The student gain insight into the newest trends in the area of wireless and mobile communication systems. The first part of the course consists of a series of lectures, presented in English by specialists from the insdustry, abroad universities of from BUT. The content of the lectures is focused on mobile cellulal networks, signal processing, antennas and signal propagation. In the second part of the course, the task of the student is to present the contents and ideas of a selected scientific journal paper.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The graduate of the course is able to: (a) understand a technical presentation given in English; (b) describe the principle of selected modern techniques used in communication systens; (c) understand the ideas behind a scientific journal paper; (d), prepare and defend a technical presentation in English.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The course consists of two parts: i) participation in online English lectures; ii) study and presentation of an expert article at a constitutional seminar. To successfully complete the course, it is necessary to obtain a specified minimum number of points in each part.
• Evaluation during the attending lectures min. 24 points, max. 48 points
• Studying a journal paper and its presentation min. 26 points, max. 52 points
Total min. 50 points, max. 100 points
