Bachelor Project

The Bachelor project closes the whole cycle of the Bachelor’s Degree Programme Architecture at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Brno University of Technology. It confirms a graduate’s knowledge and skills for his/her supposed post in the profession, i.e. an executive designer / an employee of an authorized architectonic design office.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The project proves the bachelor’s ability to work out quality contract drawings needed for the execution of a building, from the point of view of both transferring an architectonic concept into the project implementation and understanding the needs of participating professions, including the ability to solve correct technical and architectonic details.

Prerequisites

In the Bachelor project all the relevant knowledge and skills acquired by a student in the course of the whole previous study of the architectonic and engineering disciplines are applied. The content of the subject represents a synthesis of the majority of the previously studied subjects involved in the study programme.

Co-requisites

Knowledge acquired in subject Detail in architecture II.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The Bachelor project is sort of teaching where an individual work of students is emphasized. An important part of education is prezentation of the results of own work and critical discussions.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Condition for acceptance of the project is submission of three parts of work:
- architectural scheme
- technical drawings 1:100 and 1:50
- architectural detail including model 1:1
