Course detail

Specialized project (K-KDK)

FAST-BO060Acad. year: 2018/2019

This subject is focused on obtaining of advanced knowledge in case of design and evaluation of steel, timber and composite load-bearing constructions and bridges (e.g. modes of a solution of more complicated cases of load, connections, etc.). It is as well focused on more complex principles of design, realization and drawing of steel, timber and steel-concrete constructions.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Advanced skills in a creating of computational models of construction and simple bridges. Abilities in a determination and application of special cases of load (e.g. some more complicated shapes of roof structures). The obtaining of advanced knowledge in case of a design and checking of reliability conditions for steel, timber and composite steel-concrete structures and bridges, including connections and an anchorage as well as in case of theirs drawing documentation and realization.

Prerequisites

- Knowledge in structural mechanics, elasticity and plasticity (determination of internal forces, characteristics of cross-section).
- Knowledge and principles in case of design of load-bearing constructions according the limit states.
- Abilities in a creation of simply hall building computational models.
- Abilities in a determination and application of basic types of load on constructions according EC (self-weight, snow and wind load).
- Knowledge in a design of steel, timber or steel-concrete composite constructions, including connections and anchorage.

Co-requisites

- Abilities in a determination and application of a moving load on constructions.
- Advanced knowledge in a creation of computational models.
- Advanced knowledge in design and evaluation of steel-concrete composite constructions according EC.
- Basic knowledge in case of design of steel girder bridges according EC.
