Theoretical karstology and speleology. Conditions for karst development, factors. Karst cycle and denudation. Exokarst. Endokarst. Genesis and development of caves. Cave types. Cave interior. Karst hydrology and hydrography.
Karst extension in Czech Republic and worldwide. Practical meaning of karst for mankind. Karst preservation.
Speleological mapping. Speleological maps. Methods of cave measurement and depiction. Creation of a cave map.
Practical cave measurements.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Extended knowledge of students about geodesy and mapping in caves and underground objects. Natur protection.

Prerequisites

Fundamentals of geography and surveying. Fundamental measuring and mapping methods.

Acquaintance with problems of karst phenomena, its classification and preservation. Getting practical knowledge in field of speleological mapping.
