Achieving knowledge of the term management. Core of the topic is structure of management according to the functions. Detailed explanation of individual functions: Planning, organizing, motivating, leadership and control.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

For the purposes of classification, the standard countinuous point-system is used, in compliance with the ECTS scale. Students can get a maximum of 100 points in total, for a successful completion there is a limit of at least 50 points, as follows:
1) Firstly, the student will prepare a written semester project according to the individual assignments in the 2nd and 9th week of the semester and will submit it to the e-mail specified by the lecturer no later than on the 10th week of the semester (maximum 20 points – written project). The results of the semester project are presented by the team in the seminar at the 11th or 12th week of the semester (maximum 20 points - presentation). The minimum level of this part is 25 points out of 40.
2) Secondly, written exam: max 60 points, for successful completion the student need receive at least 25 points.

Aims

The objective of the course is to develop the management knowledge and acquaint students with contemporary management methods.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Checking the results of the team semester project and its presentation. Attendance at lectures and exercises is not obligatory but recommended. Students demonstrate their aktivity by the performance of the tasks for which the points are scored.
