Structures and building techniques

FA-TESAcad. year: 2018/2019

The students uses his knowledge obtained within the Bachelor´s degree study, especially the knowledge of building structures, building physics and technical services of buildings. Within an individual assignment he makes the assesment of technical attributes for variants of structural technologies and technical services used in the building. The goal is to get an overall view of the solution of a building and to get the abillity of making a technical-economical assesment of the solution.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Orientation in the current requirements for building technology and how their design. Deepening of knowledge on the construction and technical equipment. Acquisition of knowledge required for a basic design concept and coordination of professional specialists.

Prerequisites

The basic orientation of the general principles of designing technical equipment in buildings and building structures.

- A design of a common, low-energy and passive building
- A design and assesment of envelope structures and their insulation properties for each building standard
- A comparison of a financial investment for each structural solution
- A design of technical services in variants
- A comparison of a financial investment for each solution of technical services
- Energy assesment of each building standard
- Evaluation of operational costs for each standard
- A comparison of complex costs for each standard
- Making a final elaborate - technical report and summary

Aims

The aim is to form and educate the students in the field of contemporary structural technologies and technical services to get an overall view of differencies and advantages or various technical solutions in context with energy assesment, facility management a economical effectivity.
