Applied Engineering

FSI-0AIAcad. year: 2017/2018

Students get familiar with basic design principles used in industrial practice. They will get familiar with market segmentation, customer needs and their transition into product requirements, Six Sigma methodology and simple design principles used in industrial field. They will also learn design for manufacturing including strategic sourcing and modern principles such as e-sourcing. Practical examples will be provided during the course.

“Good Engineering” curriculum aims at developing the students’ integrative thinking on “good engineering” and shifting their mindset from theoretical to practical through installing the know-how of actual practice in industry field.

Aims

The aim of this course is to extend students´ mindset from theoretical to practical - industrial. They will get familiar with complete product design lifecycle in industrial field - from the initial marketing phases to final design implementation into production.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Attendance at seminars is controlled and the teacher decides on the compensation for absences.
