Course detail

Technology of Welding

FSI-ETVAcad. year: 2017/2018

The course deals with the following topics: Theoretical basis of welding - producing a weld joint. Description and theory of methods of fusion welding - flame welding, electric arc welding, plasma, electron beam and laser welding. Description and theory of methods of pressure welding - resistance welding, friction welding, diffusion welding, ultrasonic welding, cold pressure welding, explosive welding. Filler materials and welding devices. Weldability of materials. Producing a soldered joint. Thermal cutting.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The students will be made familiar with all types of modern welding technologies. They will be able to apply these technologies to the machine construction manufacturing and steel constructions. They will be able to use an independent creative attitude to the elaboration of welding procedure.
