Information Systems and Information Management

Implementation of information systems in firm: functions of information management, business information strategy and information needs analysis. Method of planning and management of information systems. Implementation of information system in a company with an emphasis on demand document creation and assembly of IS evaluation criteria in the construction industry. Internet Communication Strategy. Use of IT in construction. Marketing on the Internet. Electronic auctions and their utilization in construction, comparison with traditional selection process. Utilization of buying and selling auctions. The movement of documents in the enterprise focus based on workflow systems. Enterprise Content Management and its particular components. Information systems in the insurance industry with an emphasis on property insurance, fraud detection systems. Security of electronic communications, electronic signature, tools for secure storage of assets. Tuition is focused on analysis of particular needs of firm and implementation of its information strategy and the use of modern technologies in the field of corporate purchasing.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Knowledge of business processes, ability to analyze pragmatic processes and information flows inside organization. To acquire the ability to apply knowledge at integration of IS to the company environment.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of firm management, marketing, principles of data processing, value analysis, knowledge about current trends in information technology, ability to model reality at application of IS.
