Elementary architectural and structural design principles of civil buildings. Rooms and floor areas requirements, building volume and zones, cardinal point orientation, operation schemes, interiors equipments and furniture.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Student is able to design buildings from the point of view of space formation, operation bonds, and capacity solutions of selected types of buildings including orientation in the current legislation regarding requirements for these constructions.

Prerequisites

The subject curriculum is continuation of general typology of Building Science I.
Without attending it is impossible to design civil buildings. Knowledge of bricked, monolithic, wooden and steel constructions. Knowledge of building services and fire safety of buildings.

Aims

Refinement of knowledge regarding residential buildings, new knowledge about civil buildings for the needs of projecting objects from the point of view of space formation, operation bonds, and capacity solutions of selected types of buildings, orientation of students in the current legislation regarding requirements for these constructions.
