Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students learn how to identify processes, find their critical factors of success and to logically derive the properties that require to be managed in order to lead to quality outputs. Identification of processes, risk analysis and use of suitable tools for correctional measures in time. Application of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and Quality Function Development methods for minimization of incorrect inputs into processes.

Prerequisites

Completed courses Integrated systems of management and Statistical control of processes in FME students or courses with similar contents in students from other schools.

Co-requisites

Not applicable.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.
According to the possibility of teaching can be organized lectures for students by practitioners and excursions to companies focused on activities related to the course content.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The course-unit credit requirements: Participation in seminars. Realization of an audit and presentation of its results. Elaboration of a seminar project on a topic announced at the beginning of semester. In justified cases, the lecturer may set alternative requirements.
The exam has written and oral parts. Exam evaluation: excellent (91-100 points), very good (81-90 points), good (71-80 points), satisfactory (61-70 points), sufficient (51-60 points), failed (0-50 points).

Aims

Process management principles. Process identification and modelling. Dimensioning of sources. Rules for management documentation elaboration. Methods and tools of effective process management. Methods of risk analysis, prevention of risks. Application of previously studied theoretical courses and their use as tools for effective management of processes towards quality.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The attendance at seminars is compulsory. Every student must take part in all scored activities. An alternative assignment may be given to students if the condition is not met (in justified cases).
