Medical Information Systems

Information systems, database systems and query languages. Patient data, computerized patient record, multimedial medical data. Computer as a component of diagnostic, therapeutic, and administrative systems. Hierarchy and function of medical information systems (MIS), structure of MIS with centralized and distributed database. Speciality of ethics and security of medical data in MIS. Standardization in medical informatics. Applications of MIS.

Knowledge of medical data regarding its processing by diagnostic systems and medical information systems. Conceptions of medical information systems.

The subject knowledge on the Bachelor´s degree level is requested.

The aim of the course is to specify medical data regarding its processing by diagnostic systems and medical information systems. Introducing to structure of medical data representation, its role in diagnostic systems and conceptions of medical information systems.
