Professional Practice

The course focuses on gaining practical experience in the application of basic knowledge of specialized subjects of study at clinical departments, research and development institutes, companies operating in the field of biomedical engineering and environmental engineering.
Students significantly improve knowledge of the safety of medical devices, familiarize yourself with the terms of occupational hygiene at the clinics and functions of their waste management.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Graduate of this course is able to:
- describe the status and conditions of work of technicians at the clinics,
- discuss requirements for graduates in the field of research and development,
- explain the graduate in sales and service of medical equipment,
- describe graduate work in the field of medical equipment manufacturing company.


Prerequisites

Student who writes this article should be able to apply basic knowledge of specialized subjects had previous experience with manual tasks electrical engineering practice.
General knowledge is required at the level of bachelor's degree.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

A student has to submit a written confirmation of the 14-day continuous pedagogical practice in clinical center, in a manufacturing company, service company or research facility of the University.

Course curriculum

The course focuses on gaining practical experience in the application of basic knowledge of specialized subjects of study at the clinics, research and development institutes, companies operating in the field of Biomedical Engineering and Environmental Engineering.
The of professional practice the student has significantly improve knowledge of the safety of medical devices, get acquainted with the terms of hygiene at the clinics, the functions of their waste management, or recognize the principles of work in manufacturing or service companies.

Aims

The aim of the course is completion of professional practice in clinical workplace, research and development institutes, the university workplaces, companies operating in the field of biomedical and environmental engineering in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Professional experience within 14 days of continuous activity is required. The condition of the timing for the completion outside normal education in semester 1 or 2 year of study.
