Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will be able to understand more complicated French texts and listenings and deal with more demanding everyday situations at the upper-intermediate level (B2 according to the CEFR). They will be able to express themselves spontaneously, fluently and precisely and furthermore, they will be able to use more advanced phrases and idioms. Students will also have mastered a number of more advanced grammar phenomena and they will be able to talk about abstract concepts and present and justify their opinions.

Prerequisites

To the extent of the optional subjects "French for beginners", "French for Pre-Intermedate Students", "French for Intermediate Students".

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Grammar and vocabulary is practised in an ineractive way, with emphasis on conversation. Development of communication and listening skills using interactive audio-visual technologies.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

To be able to get their credits, students need to attend vlase regulary (max. 3 absences/semester), do homework and actively participate in the lessons.

Mastering vocabulary of 1 500 words, all grammar rules.
Translating more demanding texts, communication in speaking and writing, dealing with everyday topics.
Level A2 of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
